Lil Wayne is a famous hip-hop artist that is best known for singles like ” A Milli”, “Lollipop” and “How To Love”.

Early Life

Born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. on September 27, 1982, he got into the rap scene at an early age. He debuted at 11 with a collaboration album True Story featuring the rapper B.G.. His parents got divorced when he was 2 and his stepfather got to be really close to him, Lil Wayne having a tattoo with him.

Career Beginnings

The label record that helped him with his debut album, Cash Money put Lil Wayne in a group of rising rap stars. The group was called Hot Boys and it enclosed Wayne, B.G., Juvenile, and Turk. Their first albums Get It How U Live (1997) and Guerilla Warfare (1999) had tremendous success and sold together more than 1 million copies.

Lil Wayne wanted a solo career, so he released his debut album That Block Is Hot (1999). It met with positive reviews and he issued two more, Lights Out (2000) and 500 Degreez (2002). In 2003 he released an album that was made of his mixtapes, Da Draught.

Wayne peaked at number two on the Billboard charts with Tha Carter (2004) and the next year he released The Carter II (2005). Another compilation of mixtapes, Dedication, vol. 2 saw the light of day in 2006.

The Carter III (2008) won Wayne a Grammy for Best rap Album. His sixth studio album Rebirth (2010) contained the singles “Prom Queen”, “On Fire” and “Drop The World”.

Lil Wayne’s follow-up releases, I Am Not a Human Being (2010), Tha Carter IV (2011), I Am Not a Human Being II (2013), Free Weezy Album (2015), and Tha Carter V (2017) consolidated Wayne’s position as a rap superstar.
