Galantis Biography

Featuring Christian Karlsson of Miike Snow and Linus Eklow from Style of Eye, Galantis was formed in Stockholm, Sweden in 2013. They are best known for their hit single “Runaway (U&I)”.

Early Career

Karlsson initially met Eklow at the Roborberget studio in Stockholm, sometime in 2007. Their collaboration began in 2009 when Karlsson’s band asked Eklow to remix their song “Animal”. All the pieces came together sometime in 2012 when Eklow and Karlsson figured out a new approach by combining pop and EDM. Karlsson later said: “We realized, this is Galantis, this is our band”.

International Breakthrough

In 2013, Galantis signed a deal with Atlantic Records and released their first single, “Smile”. The duo gained international recognition with their hit single “Runaway (U&I)”, which was released on October 5, 2014. Galantis released their debut album, “Pharmacy”, on June 8, 2015. The album included two new singles, “Gold Gust” and “Peanut Butter Jelly”. On April 1, 2016, the duo released the single “No Money” which became their first single to debut on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
