Maren Morris Biography

Maren Morris is an American country music singer. The latest out of her four albums, Hero, ranked number 5 on the Billboard 200 and topped the country albums chart. She won the CMA New Artist of the Year in 2016. Additionally, she received several nominations at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards. Her single My Church received the award for Best Country Solo Performance. 

Career Beginnings

The young singer entered the music industry in 2005 by releasing her first studio album Walk On. After that, she released two more independent albums, All That it Takes, in 2007 and Live Wire, in 2011. In 2015 she released a self-titled EP. All 5 songs encountered major success on Spotify. Moreover, 3 of them reached Spotify’s US and Global “Viral 50” chart. That exposure helped her sign with Columbia Nashville. Consequently, she re-released the EP and gained immense popularity, due to the main single My Church. The single was certified Gold and got to the 5th position on the Hot Country Songs chart.

Hero

Following the success of My Church, Maren released her first major label album in 2016. She included the previously mentioned single as the lead. After that, she went touring with consecrated country star Keith Urban. Her album was nominated for Best Country Album at the Grammy Awards. Maren Morris also received a nomination for the all-genre honor of Best New Artist. She also won Billboard’s Breakthrough Star Award. In the summer of 2016, the artist released a second single, titled 80s Mercedes. The song peaked at numbers 11 and 12 on both the Billboard Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts. Moreso, it ranked number 74 on the Hot 100 list and featured in Rolling Stone’s 50 Best Songs of 2016. In 2017, Marren released a 3rd single, I Could Use a Love Song.
