Future Biography

Future is an American hip hop recording artist. Due to his stage name, he was dubbed as “the FUTURE of Hip-hop”. He has his own label called Freebandz.

Bright Future

Nayvadius DeMun Wilburn was born on November 20, 1983, in Atlanta, Georgia. He started on the rap scene as part of the musical collective The Dungeon Family, using his nickname, which will later be his stage name, “The Future”. At his cousin suggestion, record producer Rico Wade, he started to perfect his style and pursue a full-time career as a rapper. Under his cousin’s mentorship his career took off and he was signed under rapper Rocko’s A-1 Recordings. He went on and release several mixtapes and collaborated with artist Gucci Mane, on the album “Free Bricks” and YC on the single “racks”. The single “Racks”, which he co-wrote with YC managed to reach no. 42 on the Billboard Hot 100.

FUTURE

In Septembre 2011, Future signed his first major contract with Epic Records and not long after he released his debut album “Pluto” (2012) with them. His album peaked at no.8 on the Billboard 200, spawning 6 hit singles, four of them landing on the Billboard Hot 100. He also released a repackaging of the album, under the name “Pluto 3D” featuring 3 new songs and 2 remix songs. He went on and released 5 more charting albums: “Honest”, “DS2”, “EVOL”, “FUTURE” and “HNDRXX”. The albums spawned hit single such as “Move That Dope”, “Where Ya At”, “Low Life”, “Wicked”, “Draco”. Other major releases include also his collaboration with Drake on the mixtapes “What a Time to Be Alive” (2015) and “Beast Mode” (2017) which spawned Future’s most successful singles “Jumpman” and “Used to This”. “What a Time to Be Alive” peaked at no. 1 on the Billboard 200 and achieved a platinum certification.

Personal Life

Future has four children with four different women: Jessica Smith, Brittni Mealy, India J, and singer Ciara. He was engaged to Ciara in October 2013, but Ciara called off the engagement in August 2014. He had problems in the past with paying child support, which resulted in legal actions taken against him. He is a heavy user of Auto-Tune, which he sais “it makes my voice sound grittier”
