Lights is a Canadian musician, singer and songwriter from Canada.
Lights Biography
Born Valerie Anne Poxleitner on 11 April 1987, Lights Began her musical journey in 2006. Her beginnings include performing in a metal band called Shovel Face, writing for Sony and Atv Music Publishing and composing for the soundtrack of the TV series Instant Star.
First Releases
Lights changed her name legally when she was 18. There was another band named Lights, so changing her name meant she could play under this moniker without legal issues appearing. After small tours in Canada and the United States, she signed with the label Underground Operations. After releasing singles like “February Air” and “Ice”, she went on the 2009 Vans Warped Tour. Her second album Siberia received a 72/100 rating on Metacritic.
Further Career
Lights issued her album Little Machines in 2014. It enclosed the singles “Up We Go” and “Running with the Boys”. The album charted fairly well, landing the 34th place on the US Billboard 200. She announced that her next album Skin & Earth will appear in the fall of 2017 and it will come together with a comic book drawn by herself.
