Aliotta Haynes Jeremiah Biography

Aliotta Haynes Jeremiah was an American rock band from the early 1970s. The trio was originally composed of Mitch Aliotta, Ted Aliotta, and Skip Haynes. After the first album, Ted was replaced by pianist John Jeremiah.

Iconic Hit

The band managed to achieve fame only when they issued the single “Lake Shore Drive” and the album of the same name in 1971. The song praises the lakefront highway zone in Chicago, but it’s also believed it speaks about LSD, the lysergic acid diethylamide, a powerful psychedelic drug. Aliotta Haynes Jeremiah’s Skip denied the allegations about the drug references. The band also has a song about cocaine entitled “The Snow Queen.” “Lake Shore Drive” is featured in the Marvel 2017 movie Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

Further Accomplishments

They performed in a TV movie as a band that has its lead singer electrocuted while singing. The movie was called Sparrow and appeared in 1978. Lake Shore Drive was their major success so it was reissued in 1996 under the name of Lake Shore Drive at 25. The next and final album was Bob Stroud’s Classic Rock Roots Vol. II (1999).
