Ocean Park Standoff Biography

Ocean Park Standoff is an LA-based American pop band, consisting of Samantha Ronson Ethan Thompson, and Pete Nappi. They made their debut in 2016 with the single “Good News” from their self-titled EP. The song “celebrates the small victories in life”, as described by Ronson.

Formation

The members united in 2014 for the first time, for a songwriting session. Samantha Ronson, musician and DJ is the sister of the famous Mark Ronson. Ethan is a vocalist and songwriter, while Pete is a drummer and producer. They adopted a mix of alt-pop and electro-rock, with an overall sound characterised by good vibes.

2016 – 2017

The band released its first single, titled “Good News”, in the fall of 2016, along with the B-side “Photos & Liquor” – a song about falling out of love, with a twist. It peaked at number 15 on the Billboard Adult Pop Songs chart. Furthermore, their debut EP “Ocean Park Standoff” came out in March 2017, through Hollywood Records. They promoted it by touring the US. Additionally, radio personality Evil Duran named Ocean Park Standoff as Artist of the Month. (February 2017). Next up, the group will tour with Third Eye Blind and Silversun Pickups.
