Reunion - Betty Who

Album: The Valley

genre: Pop Synthpop

God, it feels like it’s been forever
How you been? Did you get my letters?
I tried to call a thousand times
But I’m so bad at apologizin’
I threw out the last of your t-shirts
You got yourself a girl last that I heard
I told myself a thousand times
That I’d grow up and I’d be fine

But now you’re smiling, and I’m only human
Baby, I missed you every single day
It’s been a while, but in our reunion
I can’t remember why you went away
So what comes next? Could we ever be together again?
But I got this feeling that there’s a reason
It’s a reunion, not a getaway

Hid our box of pictures together
Closed the lid and broke our “forever”
I finally got you out my mind
Forgetting took the longest time

But now you’re smiling, and I’m only human
Baby, I missed you every single day
It’s been a while, but in our reunion
I can’t remember why you went away
So what comes next? Could we ever be together again?
But I got this feeling that there’s a reason
It’s a reunion, not a getaway

And we might never, never know, never, never know
Why we lost forever, ever, forever, ever
But I can’t say goodbye

But now you’re smiling, I’m only human
Maybe I miss you every single day
It’s been a while, but in our reunion
I can’t remember why you went away
So what comes next? Could we ever be together again?
But I got this feeling that there’s a reason
It’s a reunion, not a getaway

Yeah, I can’t remember why you went away
Yeah, it’s a reunion, not a getaway

The Valley Danzig album lyrics
Betty Who stated to the British newspaper The Independent: "I was in New York right before I moved officially to LA, working with Robopop and Peter [Thomas]. If I remember correctly, the day we wrote this song was actually the day that Robopop was sick as a dog and he was trying so hard to stick it out but he was like… sweaty and pale and looked like a victim of the bubonic plague in 1350. We felt so bad for him but we also all wanted to work together so badly that we were all like ‘okay we’ve got two hours then you’re going home – let’s see what we can do’ and we wrote the first verse and chorus of ‘Reunion’."
