Early Years

Cyrus began to sing at an early age. Influenced by the fact that his father played the guitar, but mostly by a Neil Diamond concert, Ray dropped out of college and started pursuing a career in music.

His first album Some Gave All (1992) entered the Billboard Top Country Albums and Billboard 200 charts at number one. This album includes his iconic hit “Achy Breaky Heart”. It Won’t be the Last and Storm in the Heartland consolidated his name in the country scene.

Further Career

Cyrus achieved modest success with his Christian music albums Time Flies and The Other Side. They were released in 2003. Next for him were appearances in the shows Hannah Montana and Dancing with the Stars. These collaborations revitalised his name and brought Ray back to the studio.
