David Bisbal Ferre is a Spanish latin pop singer, songwriter and actor. Since his debut in 2001, he released six studio albums, all of which have topped the Spanish charts. David has numerous international hits, notably 2004’s Buleria. Many of his songs have been featured in soap operas.
Early Life & Career
David Bisbal was born in 1979, in Almeria, Spain. As a child, he enjoyed performing in public, even though he was shy at first. He dropped out of high-school and worked at a nursery. Furthermore, he met the producer of Orchestra Expressions, who hired him as the lead singer. In 2001 he took part in the Spanish Pop Idol (Operación Triunfo) competition and won second place. Consequently, he performed as a backing vocalist at 2002’s Eurovision.
Breakthrough & Success
Shortly after, David signed a contract with Vale Music and released his debut album, Corazon Latino. The album received 13xPlatinum in Spain and dominated the charts. Moreover, it gained a Latin Grammy and spawned 6 singles. In 2014, the Spanish artist’s second album came out, titled Buleria. The 10xPlatinum-certified record was an immense success and generated 7 singles. Additionally, it peaked at top 5 on both Billboard’s Top Latin Albums and Latin Pop Albums. However, despite releasing another 3 popular albums, Premonición (2006), Sin Mirar Atrás (2009) and Tú y Yo (2014), Bisbal’s sales began to drop. In late 2016, he came out with his newest album, Hijos del Mar.
