Swae Lee is one half of the young and famous hip-hop group Rae Sremmurd.
Swae Lee Biography
Born Khalif Malikibnsham Brown on 7 June 1993, Swae Lee grew up in Mississippi. He started making music at an early age, together with his brother Slim Jxmmi and Lil Pantz.
Early Years
Using the name “Dem Outta St8 Boyz”, they started to play at local parties and bars, travelling to audition for contests. They got second place in the hip-hop and R&B show 106 and Park, resulting in meetings with record labels, but they didn’t sign any contract. Further Career
In 2013 the brothers signed with EarDrummers Entertainment and they chose the name Rae Sremmurd, which is ear drummers spelt backwards. SremmLife, their debut album issued on 6 January 2015 and flew right on the 5th spot on the US Billboard 200.
Swae is currently working on his album Swaecation, that is yet to be announced. He features on songs like “Drinks On Us” with Mike Will Made-It, Future & The Weeknd and “Burn Slow” with Wiz Khalifa. Lee produced the song “Pussy Print” for Gucci Mane and Kanye West. He also co-wrote “Formation” for Beyonce’s Lemonade.
