Barenaked Ladies Biography

Barenaked Ladies encloses the members Ed Robertson, Jim Creeggan, Tyler Stewart, and Kevin Hearn. Past members are Steven Page and Andy Creeggan.

Early Years

The band starting point consisted of Ed Robertson and Steven Page. Their first tape was titled Buck Naked and was released in 1989. Soon after they invited brothers Creeggan to play with them.

Gordon (1992) was the band’s first album. Numerous songs were already recorded and they had their individual fame. Their last album Maybe You Should Drive (1994) was not as successful as the first one. Andy Creeggan left the band immediately after its release.

Revival

The band got right back on track with the 1998 album Stunt. Its single “One Week”  reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Further releases like Maroon (2000), Everything to Everyone (2003) and Barenaked for the Holidays (2004) steadied their positions and style.

After a kid-oriented album called Snacktime! (2008), Steven Page was arrested for cocaine possession. They later announced he left the group and the remaining members continued work for All in Good Time (2010).  It was well critically well received and it ranked 23rd on the Billboard 200. After 2 more solo albums, Barenaked Ladies collaborated with the a cappella group The Persuasions. Together they released the album Ladies and Gentleman: Barenaked Ladies and The Persuasions in 2017.
