Jacob Sartorius Biography

Jacob Sartorius is an American singer and internet personality who became popular thanks to his lip-syncing videos on Musical.ly.

Early Life

Rolf Jacob Sartorius was born in Oklahoma on October 2, 2002, but raised in Virginia by his adoptive parents. By age 7 he was in love with musicals and performing.

Online Fame

At 11 years old he posted his first video online on Vine, condemning the act of bullying, as he was experiencing it first hand. The video went viral, encouraging him to post more videos and garnered an internet following. The same year, his online presence kickstarted when he joined Musical.ly and started lip-syncing and posting videos. Jacob was able to amass 14 million followers.

Music Career Debut

As a result of his fame, he was signed to an indie label and released a debut single, entitled Sweatshirt in 2016. The song managed to enter the US Billboard Hot 100 and Sartorius performed it for the first time during the Magcon tour. After the tour, Jacob was compared to the like of Justin Bieber and he released 2 more singles Hit or Miss and All My Friends. The first song is his highest charting song at number 72. He announced a mini-tour in 6 American cities called All My Friends Tour. Soon after he announced another tour, entitled The Last Text World Tour which will support his debut EP The Last Text.
