Early Life
Miranda Leigh Lambert was born in Longview, Texas, on November 10, 1983, but was raised in Lindale, Texas. Still a teenager, Miranda made her debut with “The Texas Pride Band”. She would also perform at the Reo Palm Isle where Elvis Presley and Willie Nelson played.
Career Beginnings
In 2001 she and her father founded an independent label and released locally Texas Pride and Somebody Else, which entered Texas charts. She was part of the TV singing competition show Nashville Star. Although she did not win, she was signed to Epic Records the same year.
Breakthrough
Miranda’s debut album Kerosene appeared in 2004. Lambert co-wrote 11 songs, the title track and LP were certified platinum. The 2007 release of the Crazy Ex-Girlfriend album was her major commercial breakthrough debuting at number 1 on Billboard Country and number 6 on Top 200. Hit singles like Famous in a Small Town, Gunpowder & Lead and More Like Her were created. What followed was an even bigger success. The third album Revolution gave Miranda’s first number 1 single The House That Built Me and White Liar was certified platinum. Deciding to venture into other projects she joined forces with Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley as Pistol Annies. They released the successful LP Hell on Heels in 2011.
Queen of Country Music
Four the Record was issued after 4 months of the Pistol Annies project. It made four top 10 hits and solidified Lambert’s position as the queen of country in the 2010s. Miranda’s marriage with fellow country singer Blake Shelton kept the public’s attention on her even more. Nonetheless, she went back to acting and released another album with Pistol Annies, Annie Up. In 2014 she released the fifth LP Platinum which proved to be another hit with songs like Automatic and Little Red Wagon. After a divorce announcement from Shelton, she began working on her next project. The Weight of These Wings a double album was revealed in 2016.
