PnB Rock Biography

Rakim Hasheem Allen, known by his stage name PnB Rock, is an American hip hop artist. He gained recognition in 2016, with the single Selfish, which reached the US Billboard Hot 100.

Early Life

PnB Rock was born in the winter of 1991, in Philadelphia. During his teen year, he got into trouble frequently. When he was thirteen years old, Allen entered a youth detention program, after committing robberies and fighting. Shortly after his coming of age, the rapper was sent to prison for 33 months, due to drug possession and others.

Career

In 2014, PnB Rock released his first mixtape, Real N*gga Bangaz. One year later, he released RnB 2 and RnB 3. The latter was released under, Atlantic Records, with whom PnB Rock signed a contract. 2016 was the year of his major breakthrough. The artist released his fourth mixtape, Money, Hoes & Flows, and the massively popular single, Selfish. Additionally, he made it into Rolling Stone’s 10 New Artists You Need to Know list. In 2017, the young rapper released his debut album, GTTM: Goin Thru the Motions. The album included collaborations with the likes of Wiz Khalifa and Ty Dolla Sign. Moreover, it peaked at number 28 on the Billboard 200.
