Slushii Biography

Julian Scanlan, known by his nickname Slushii, is an American DJ and electronic music producer. He is famous as one of the artists managed by Moe Shalizi, along with Marshmello, Ookay and Jauz. Moreover, he is Skrillex‘s protegee.

Early Life & Career

Slushii was born in New Jersey and worked at Best Buy for a minimum wage before becoming famous. He was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome and, therefore, didn’t have friends, only bullies. He pursued a music career in 2012, by joining a psychedelic band. With them, he released one album. Additionally, he was part of musical duo Monsters With Tiny Mustaches. In 2013 he moved onto dance music, under the name Dj Swoon.

Musical Success

In 2016, the uprising DJ signed with Red Light Management. His first major label single, Emptiness, was released in 2016. Furthermore, e made his EP debut one month later with Brain Freeze. Additionally, he released the single, Dear Me, as a free download. In 2017 he collaborated with Marshmello, on the song Twinbow.  

Overall, he released countless remixes on his Soundcloud account. With practice and good branding, he gained more and more recognition. His remixed of Deeper Love by Botnek & I See MONSTAS and, more recently, of Zedd’s I Want You To Know, particularly stood out.
