AlunaGeorge Biography

AlunaGeorge is enclosing the members Aluna Francis (vocalist and songwriter) and George Reid (producer and instrumentalist).

Early Years

In 2009, Francis was singing with the band My Toys Like Me. She met Reid when he remixed one of the band’s songs, “Sweetheart”.

They released the single “You Know You Like It” as AlunaGeorge in 2012. It was available in digital form or as a vinyl. Their first commercial single was titled “Your Drums, Your Love”. It debuted at number 50 on the UK Singles Chart.

Follow Up and Personal View

AlunaGeorge collaborated with Disclosure on “White Noise”, which became a hit in a blink of an eye. After they issued the single “Attracting Flies”, they signed with Interscope Records.

The duo admitted they consider artists like Mariah Carey, CocoRosie, Flying Lotus and Chris Clark to have inspired them. “No, I don’t think we’ve crossed over — we have to bring a lot more music. We’re not trying to be a one-hit wonder. We’re not here to disappear“, Francis said in an interview with Billboard.
