Jack U Biography

Jack Ü is an EDM DJ duo and collaborative side group consisted of DJ giants, Diplo and Skrillex.

Early Formation

The duo was formed by Diplo and Skrillex in 2013. The pair decided to collaborate occasionally under this name, by releasing material with a mixture of house, dubstep, and trap. The two collaborated previously, Skrillex making an appearance on Diplo’s Major Lazer concept and Diplo is credited on Skrillex’s EP Bangarang and LP Recess. 

Beginnings

Diplo and Skrillex made their first appearance as the duo Jack Ü in 2013 at the Mad Decent Block Party. Together they held several performances at festivals like the Ultra Music Festival and headlined a concert at Madison Square Garden. They recorded their first single Take Ü There and released it in 2014. Jack Ü released the debut album in 2015, during a DJ event streamed online. In August 2016, Skrillex stated on his Twitter account that the group would not tour for a very long time.
