Feist is a Canadian indie pop singer-songwriter.
Feist Biography
Born Leslie Feist on 13 February 1976, Feist began her music adventure with the punk band Placebo (not to be confused with the English Band Placebo). She was the founder and the lead vocalist.
Early Career
She was the bassist for Noah’s Arkweld at first. Next, she played rhythm guitar for By Divine Right for a few years. Feist collaborated with the musician Peaches.
She issued her debut album Monarch in 1999. Together with some friends, she formed the band Broken Social Scene. They recorded You Forgot It in People at first. Complex as she is, Feist collaborated also with Kings of Convenience and Riot on an Empty Street.
Solo Shining
Released earlier, Let It Die (2004) was promoted with tours through North America, Europe, Asia and Australia. Let It Die is her major label debut, pushing her on a bigger scene as a solo artist.
Her third solo album was called The Reminder (2007). It won a Juno Award for “Album of the Year”. With singles like “My Moon My Man” and “1234”, it sold over 1 million copies worldwide. The 2011 album Metals was critically acclaimed. Feist’s fifth studio album is called Pleasure and it’s set to be released on 28 April 2017. With a self-titled lead single, the album will be released through Universal Music Canada.
