Magic! Biography

Magic! is a Canadian-based pop-reggae fusion band, mostly known for their International number 1 single Rude.

Early Formation

The band was started by guitarists/songwriters Nasri Atweh and Mark “Pelli” Pellizzer in 2012, shortly joined by percussionist Alex Tanas and bass guitarist Ben Spivak.

Debut and Success

Their debut single was a fun fusion of pop, reggae, and R&B named Rude. They released the lead single under the name Magic!. after signing a deal with Sony Music International in 2013. The single was a top 5 in numerous countries and a 6 weeks number 1 in the US. The group’s first full-length album arrived in 2014 as Don’t Kill the Magic. It reached number 6 on the Billboard 200 chart. In 2015 Magic! joined Maroon 5 for a tour returning with the new single Lay You Down Easy featured by Sean Paul. It debuted at spot 1 on Billboard’s Reggae Digital Songs. Soon after they revealed their sophomore album called Primary Colors in July 2016.
