Kodaline conducted their fans' feelings-orchestra with singles like "All I Want" and "High Hopes".
Kodaline Biography
Kodaline is an Irish rock band that encloses the members Steve Garrigan (lead singer), Mark Prendergast (lead guitar), Vincent May (drums), Jason Boland (bass guitar).
“…we just put so much time into our album and we’ve turned into this kind of career band that when we put a show on sale, it sells out, and people sing back words to the whole album. We’re happy with that. If we got a lift off moment, we’d be happy, but we’re not searching for it. The venues are slowly getting bigger and bigger, so we’re happy where we’re at”, Mark Prendergast declared for Digital Spy.
Early Years
The boys started under the name 21 Demands and their first single was called “Give Me a Minute” (2007). The tune reached top places on the Irish Singles Chart and got them in the spotlight.
New Name
With their new stage name Kodaline, the band issued the extended play The Kodaline EP (2002). It was produced by Philip Magee and the single “All I Want” brought them a firm grasp to fame.
Their debut studio album In a Perfect World (2013) got mixed reviews, but their fanbase clearly increased after its release. “All I Want” was featured in the series The Vampire Diaries, in the movie The Fault in Our Stars and in TCM Remembers. The films Horns and Love, Rosie included in their trailers the singles “Pray” and “High Hopes”, respectively.
Kodaline released the LP Coming Up for Air and debuted at number four on the UK Albums Chart. With the singles “Honest” and “The One”, the album received 3/5 stars from The Guardian.
