Scratch Biography

Born Kyle Jones, Scratch is best known for being a member of the band The Roots.

In The Band

He was a member of Schoolz of Thought, until he joined The Roots in 1998. Working with them along with Dice Raw, E.S.T of Three Times Dope, Jill Scott and others, Scratch issued his debut solo album The Embodiment of Instrumentation (2002).

Going Solo

Leaving The Roots in 2003, the artist continued to pursue his other projects. He issued the album Loss 4 Wordz in 2009. Scratch collaborated with artists such as Kanye West, Musiq and Damon Albarn. The most notable single it’s “Let’s Go” featuring Peedi Crakk.
