Jason Aldean Biography

Born Jason Aldine Williams on 28 February 1977, the Georgian singer became hooked on guitar from an early age. Helped by his parents, music became his passion.

Early Career

Aldean had a rough start when he moved to Nashville. The struggling ended when he signed to Broken Bow Records. “Hicktown” was an impressive debut single for Jason, peaking at number ten on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts. Helped by the singles “Why” and “Amarillo Sky”, the Jason Aldean album sold over one million copies in the US.

Steady Recordings

After the moderate success of Relentless (2007), Wide Open (2009) and My Kinda Party (2010) topped the charts with their singles. The albums gave Jason the chance to collaborate with artists like Ludacris, Kelly Clarkson and Randy Owen.

Aldean issued his 5h album Night Train in 2012. One year later, he sang “American Woman” with Lenny Kravitz on the CMT Music Awards.

Jason’s next two albums were Old Boots, New Dirt (2014) and They Don’t Know (2016). The former is one of the few platinum-seller albums in its year.

Personal View

“In this business, everybody has got an opinion: people at your label, your friends, your family, the radio station. They all have what they want to hear. You put 10 people in a room, play them the album and ask them to pick their favorites, you’ll get 10 different songs. That’s the way it is. As an artist, you listen to all this stuff. But for me, I’m always thinking what’s going to work best for my live show. Because I don’t want to have a live show full of ballads”, Jason Aldean declared for the Rolling Stone Magazine.
